The invention relates to the inspection of workpieces using two elongated linear probes in a pitch-catch arrangement, comprising a manipulator which positions the two linear probes in relation to each other at a set pressure such that they can be adjusted on two opposite surfaces of the workpiece and moved synchronously. In this way, the inspection can be carried out in a systematically robust and mechanized manner. The invention is particularly suitable for the inspection of rotor disks of gas and steam turbines.
